Import NinjaTrader 8 trades into your journal
NinjaTrader's Trade Performance report exports a clean CSV — and TradeHelp recognizes it on sight. Two minutes from platform to journaled, verified trades.
Export from NinjaTrader 8
- In the Control Center, open New → Trade Performance.
- Pick your account and date range, then run the report and switch the display to the Trades tab (the grid of individual trades).
- Set the display unit to Currency ($) — the toolbar dropdown that toggles Points / Ticks / Currency. The export follows whatever is displayed, and you want P&L in dollars.
- Right-click the trades grid and choose Export…, saving as CSV.
The one gotcha: if the report is displaying Points when you export, your P&L column will import as points, not dollars. Set the unit to Currency first (step 3) and everything lands correctly.
Import into TradeHelp
- Open the Journal tab and click Import CSV.
- Drop the file in. TradeHelp detects the NinjaTrader export automatically — you'll see "NinjaTrader 8 export recognized" with every column pre-mapped.
- Check the preview and click Import.
What TradeHelp handles for you
- Direction from the
Market pos.column (Long / Short). - Symbols cleaned up — "MNQ MAR24" becomes
MNQ, so contract months don't fragment your stats. - Commission netted into P&L and tracked separately, with total fees shown on your dashboard.
- Entry and exit times parsed, powering the hour-by-day performance heat map.
- Duplicates skipped — re-export next month and only the new trades import.
- Rating turns Verified — broker-imported trades upgrade your trader rating from "Self-reported".
